Remembering the I in Happiness

Too often we put the needs and wants of the rest of the world before our own. We bend and stretch ourselves until we are pulled so thin that we’re nearly invisible. We agree to so many things we don’t want to do and it adds onto the already overflowing pile of stress in our everyday lives.  The more tasks and stress we put on ourselves, the more anger, resentment, and just all around bad attitudes we are going to have. We spend so much time saying “yes” to the world and “no” to ourselves. It’s time we stop!

It’s time that we, as mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, and even friends, start putting ourselves first. We need to remember that we don’t have to be as good as the next person, we just have to be as good as we are meant to be. It’s time that we stop competing with one another and start lifting each other up. It’s time that we start doing things that make us happy and make us feel good. It’s time to be selfish and remember that happiness is spelled with an I!

I vow to move forward with life by doing more things that will bring me happiness. I challenge you to do the same.
